Giving Makes It Possible
Our shared calling is to see hearts renewed and those without hope receive hope. As a church, we are privileged to carry out the mission and move toward the vision that God has given us. In all of this, financial resources make things possible. We do not receive grants or public subsidies. Our funding is entirely based on voluntary donations.
The motivation for giving is love for Jesus and gratitude. God is generous — He has given us everything we have, even His own Son. From this generosity, a desire can grow in our hearts to advance God’s kingdom together as a church.
Serving Is Also a Way of Giving
You can also give by serving with your time. Our church offers many meaningful roles where you can use the gifts God has given you. One of our values is continuous learning. Jesus called us to be His disciples, and we believe that discipleship is a lifelong journey. This also applies to serving. We want to encourage our community and its members to try new things with courage. You do not need to know everything perfectly — often, genuine interest and a willingness to learn are enough. You also do not serve alone. A service team often becomes its own small community where you can grow and learn together.
Some of our service teams include: Welcome, Hosts, Sunday Service Musicians, Worship, Catering, Living Room Hosts, Tech, Communications, Interpretation, Children, Preteens, Youth, Young Adults, Women, Men, Seniors, Camps, Language Cafe, Friendship Circle.
What Are You Committing To? To support continuity in planning, we hope you can commit to a service team for six months at a time. For more information, contact the staff team or send a message to: office@lahenvapis.fi. We are happy to get to know you before you begin serving. In some areas of ministry, we may arrange a short conversation before you are accepted into the team.
Money and the Bible
The Bible is God’s revelation to us. By studying Scripture, we can grow in understanding what God’s will is regarding finances and the use of money, and what stewardship looks like according to the principles of God’s kingdom. Jesus teaches about priorities: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33). The phrase “all these things” refers to what we need while living here on earth — what to eat and drink, and what to wear.
In the Money and the Bible course, we look for answers to what the Bible says about finances and generosity. The course consists of five sessions and is well suited, for example, for use in a community group. Each session includes a ready-made video introduction and prepared materials for that session’s theme. Everything is prepared in advance. One session lasts about one hour. Topics include: My use of money, Attitudes toward money, A generous lifestyle, The church’s use of money and its principles, A shared vision and finances.
