Our Values

Lahden Vapaaseurakunta – The Evangelical Free Church in Lahti

Our purpose is to invite people into relationship — and into experiencing the love of God. We want to honour and serve both God and people with the gifts we have been given.

We are a church for individuals and families. Our desire is that everyone would feel loved and that everyone would belong.

Bold Grace

Complete acceptance. The starting point of a relationship with God is His unconditional grace toward us. He gives us new life — a life we are called to live boldly as ordinary people. This new life itself bears witness to God’s grace.

Genuine Presence

We believe that a meaningful and rich life grows out of God’s presence. As we come to know God, we also come to understand ourselves more deeply.We are created to live in relationship — with God and with one another. We believe that genuine encounters and genuine presence respond to our deepest longing for connection.

Lifelong Learning

We recognise that we are still growing. Jesus called us to be His disciples, and we believe that discipleship is a lifelong journey. It involves a renewed way of thinking and walking in a new reality — both individually and as a community.

Loving Relationships

God’s love does not leave us unchanged — it moves us to act. A church shaped by love influences the wider society. Jesus’ self-giving example of genuine love calls us to love and serve the people around us.
